First of all, HAPPY EASTER! What a great time it is to reflect on our Saviour Jesus Christ and his resurrection. In church on Sunday during the sacrament, I was able to think about how crazy it is that we have someone who has saved us, given us a sense of direction in this life! It’s comforting to know that someone has atoned for our sins and has set an example for us to follow. He has trail blazed a path for us to return to our Heavenly Father. Through him and only him can we be saved! He is essential to everything we do in this life and as we continue to use the atonement every day we can become better. And I personally believe that sin won’t keep us from returning to our Heavenly Father, It is doubt. It ultimately comes down to our faith. Our sins have already been accounted for as long as we use the Atonement. We need to press forward with faith and keep God 1st. Anyways those are my thoughts from yesterday. It was a really spiritual day for me at church and I just loved it!

This past week was so so slow for us. We discussed in weekly planning to go through the ward list and try and contact all of the people we didn't know. We had heaps of people to go see but they were either gone or just didn't want to answer their door. It was so frustrating because we had all these plans to visit these people but it didn't really work out. So we did that on Tuesday.

Because the people we tried to visit weren't home, we decided to visit the same people on Wednesday. Still nothing changed for us. The week just seemed to repeat its self over and over again and on top of that biking every where sucked. Our area has lots of hills and biking up them every day sucks. But on the positive side my legs are starting to gain some of the muscle I had lost from being in a car my last area. So that's positive. My companion Elder frew and I are so sore right now.

All of our investigators so busy we haven't been able to catch them and that has also been frustrating. Spiritually I have struggled this week just from it being so rough. It has been one of the harder weeks of the mission so far. I just feel like there is more I can be doing but I don't know what it is and its been bothering me all week. In my studies this week that's what I'm going to be focusing on and hopefully I can get some answers.

Is funny that whenever we are struggling or just need a short break, we go to McDonald's and grab a frozen coke because they are only a dollar here! So we get like 10 a week haha. I keep track of how many I get and use it as a key indicator just because its fun. We like to compete to see who can get more frozen cokes throughout the week in my district. It adds some fun to the work and gives us something to laugh about when the work gets hard. The islanders love there frozen cokes so that's why I do it. (:  But yeah, the week has been really slow for us. This next week we are hoping to pick it up.

Our bishop and his family found a family that we can hopefully start teaching. We have a FHE with them tonight at our bishops house so we are excited for that. Oh I also went on trade offs with the Samoan Elders this week and that was alright. They cover the whole stake and they are on bikes so we had to do heaps of biking when I was with them. It was pretty solid. I was able to meet some of their investigators which was much needed cause both missionaries have 6 months worth of experience combined. So I was able to help them with their investigators and teaching.

Easter is the same here as it is in America. Nothing too different. Something else that has been pretty frustrating is the other district leader in the zone is really sick and has been the past 6 weeks and the zone leaders are starting to annoy me because they aren't doing their part and the other district is getting pretty frustrated with them.  I asked if I could deal with them to see if I could help. It was affecting the unity in the zone and it was annoying me so I took over. Its been pretty stressful lately. Hopefully things will cool down a little bit this week and I can stay focused.

That’s all from this past week that I can think of. Love ya heaps and thanks for all of the love and support you give me. I appreciate it.

Auckland City Limits

This past week has been a very busy week. There were so many different events and meetings that took place. Nothing super exciting happened on Tuesday. It was a pretty normal day. One of the zone leaders was a Visa waiter waiting to go to Arizona where he was originally called to serve, he left Tuesday night and we said goodbye to him which was pretty sad.

Wednesday we had zone conference. It was a total of 3 zones combined. President rebuked us all in the most loving way! The way he corrects missionaries is incredible. He does it with so much love and is willing to give missionaries a second chance. The whole conference was about keeping the mission schedule and making sure we are following that schedule every day. Apparently it’s a big struggle throughout the mission right now. So it was pretty interesting. I was able to learn heaps and apply it second half of the week. That’s the cool thing about being on the mission is you continue to learn more every single day even when you think you have it all down. You later realize that you don't. T

Thursday was a pretty fun day. There is this really busy street that borders the zone leaders area where there is always heaps of people. My companion and I decided to go there and try to talk with some people up there. We didn't know that it was St Patrick’s day that day so there were some really strange people getting drunk at 3 in the afternoon haha. It was crack up. We had 3 drunk people talk to us outside a bar and It was a funny conversation. They were just wasted and it was kinda pointless to talk to them but we decided to make the most of it and continue to talk to them for a few minutes. We left that conversation cracking up about what was said. I won’t say what they said because it wouldn’t be appropriate for me to share right now. Maybe when I finish I will tell. So that was fun.

We had a little trade off with the zl’s after dinner. I went with Elder Lee into the city to try and talk with some people there. That was solid. Street contacting is so much fun! I love it so much because you run into some weird people and hear crazy stories. We did that for about an hour and than we got to teach an English class which is always fun. That’s how we ended our night.

The weekend was really solid for us. It was ward conference weekend and we had a few events going on to help with missionary work. Friday night there was a dance that we were unable to attend for obvious reasons. Saturday was the golden day. We were going to have a chapel tour for investigators and for anyone that wanted to come. We had an appointment with one of our investigators that day at 5 and it was going to interfere with the chapel tour and we had to go to the chapel tour because we were part of it. So we instead invited them to the chapel tour hoping they would be interested in coming. They said they would love to come. The only problem was that they didn’t have a ride and the members that fellowship them were out of town so we were scrambling to find someone else to give them a ride. We were able finally find some one to give them a ride an hour before it was supposed to start. But the tour was mean. All the ward auxiliaries had booths set up through out the chapel and they were able to introduce that part of the church which was super cool. We also had heaps of less actives that came which made my freaking day! We had an awesome turn out and It put such a big smile on my face.

After the chapel tour we had a massive feed. The ward roasted 2 whole pigs which was mean. I love islander’s feeds so much. They always go all out on them. So it was great day for us.
Also Kendrick Lamar had a concert that same night. They had a giant music festival that went all day and we rode past it on our bikes and it made me really want to go! haha it went all day and they even blocked off all the roads around it. It was pretty hectic trying to go around it all. But I just find it cool that Kendrick Lamar was in our area haha. We saw his limo a few times through out the week which was pretty cool.

Every thing is still going well. I have been stressing about a companionship in my district because they aren't getting along and one of them is really struggling adjusting to being a Senior companion and he is in need of some help. So that’s going to be my focus this upcoming week. It will be stressful trying to figure it all out but I know I can do it. That’s all for this week!

Love ya!

Anyways...There's this Family...

Malo suifua

What a great week this last week was. Monday after we emailed, we had our zone p-day and we had a massive nerf war at our chapel. Our chapel is 2 stories so it was really fun. We played capture the flag, last man standing and heaps of other games! It was one of the funnest p-days yet.
Missionary work this past week has been so good! We have gotten 3 referrals this week and we are hoping to add them to our teaching pool this next week. It’s crazy to see all of the miracles that can happen if you remain faithful and desire to really help the people out. The Lord blesses you with people to preach the gospel to.

Anyways, there's this family, we were supposed to have an FHE with them last Tuesday, but they had to move it to Thursday. We went over and we started off with dinner. After that we had our lesson, We showed them a video of our Mission Haka that some of the Elders did and that really got the kids. They are a Maori family and so they really enjoyed it. After that we shared a few mormon messages with the family and talked about them afterwards. The family really enjoyed it. The kids loved the videos and the message it had. The whole time the spirit was there. It wasn’t that, emotional deep feeling you get when you feel the spirit, it was that fun loving spirit that provided us with the laughs and the good conversations. That is something I have learned about the spirit. It has its different personalities like we do. I just loved it.

Afterwards the family expressed to us how grateful they were that we come over every week. They said their kids look forward to us coming over and teaching them something new. And that’s when I feel in-love with this family. They are so cool and all I want is to see them dressed in white sometime in the future. They just make me happy because they are a really young family and they are like the perfect family. All they need is the gospel. We told them we had transfers next week and we also told them that my companion might get transferred because he has been in this area for ages. That made it even more sad and you could just feel the love because our relationship with the family is awesome. My companion and I are both crossing our fingers hoping he doesn't get transferred.

Sunday was a pretty interesting day. After church the Tongan Elders invited us to their dinner at 2. The reason it’s dinner is because it was Fast Sunday and when you serve in the language program here, they have dinner really early and feed you heaps! I have never eaten more food in my life. I had horse for the second time and it was just incredible. It was so good.  Two hours later the zone leaders invited us to their dinner appointment as well which really just put me off for the rest of the day. I could no longer talk about food because of the amount I ate. Thinking about food got me sick. It was miserable.

My personal study has been good this week. I finished the Book Of Mormon and I started D&C this last week. It is the first time I am reading it and truly studying it. It takes me almost an hour to read 2 sections because of everything it contains. So much doctrine is in there and I am always taking notes from it and it takes a while but I love it.

Anyways, this week is transfer week and I am expecting a new companion because my companion has been here for a while now. We will find out later tonight about it so that will be interesting. Hopefully we get a car this week as well. We should be getting one because our area is too big not to have a car. This week will be interesting on what happens. This last transfer went by way to fast. The mission just gets faster and faster. Anyways, that’s all I have for this week. Love ya!
