An Exciting Time to be a Missionary!

Hello,

Wow, this last week has just been full of new and exciting things.  Probably the biggest news was the change the church made to our daily schedule. It was exciting to hear about the change. It will be nice to wake up and not have to stress about getting ready and being on time to studies. Also not having to plan at night is freaking awesome! But the week was good. We had trade offs with our zone leaders and that was algood. I was with Elder V in our area. He is from South Africa. He is kind of boring but a good missionary. We had a good day.
We got yelled at by one of our potential investigators telling us to go away. He was super drunk at the time so we didn't think to much of it. Thats whats different about the people up north. They are either drunk or high as a kite haha. But it creates a fun memory. I also
found out that one of the less active families I was working with has come back to church. The companion I was with when we worked with them is Elder Frew and he is currently serving in the Cook Islands.  He told me today that he saw them there and they were telling him that they had been going church. They told him that "All your hard work
payed off." We met with this family for 5 months and couldn't get them to come to church the whole time we were there. We taught every gospel topic there is and still couldn't get them to come until we left the area. So that was really awesome to hear.
We had zone conference yesterday and to be honest it was kinda boring. We had a training on weekly planning and we had to ‘weekly plan’ for 4 hours. It wasn't super
fun.
We had a really cool lesson with a less active who came up to us at our branch activity on Saturday and asked if we could help him with his smoking addiction. He is in his late 20's. He is a returned missionary and was the branch President 2 years ago. Once he was released things went down hill for him.  He and his wife split and that’s when he started to get into smoking. We had a really good lesson with him last night.  We talked about the 12 Step Program the church has and we talked about repentance and the atonement. We read Alma Ch. 36, when Alma is telling his son Helaman his conversion to the church. Alma was converted because not only because an angel appeared to him, but he remembered what his father told him about there being a Saviour and that he would  perform an atonement for us. Alma was able to use the atonement and that knowledge was able to give him a new strength to get him back on his feet. And we all know the rest…he and the sons of Mosiah became some of the greatest missionaries of all time. That story just goes to show that we receive new strength when we use and apply the atonement. The spirit was super strong.

I would like to apologize for the lack of pictures again. My camera broke so I can't really take any pictures. I have to use my comps camera.
So ya, that’s my week. Love ya heaps!
